Medusa tattoos can also represent menacing beauty, because of her ability to turn suitors to stone. If you want to clear Medusa’s name and set the story straight, consider a geometric Medusa tattoo design that’s sure to turn heads and start conversations. Though there are many versions of her tale, the most popular in modern culture is one in which she is responsible for Poiseden’s inability to control himself. Medusa is an oft-misunderstood figure and has become something of a feminine icon. Here come geometric Hellenic mythology tattoos, ready to give you some fresh inspiration. Many people choose these deities to guide them through life, often immortalizing their images in tattoo form.īut that means there are many Greek mythology tattoos out there, and you may wonder how to choose an original tattoo design. Of all the many mythological belief systems throughout time, the Grecian pantheon has to be the most infamous. If these are the questions you like to ask yourself, these geometric hourglass tattoos will suit you perfectly. Is time travel possible? Does everything exist at once and are there other dimensions? Flower of Life TattoosĪ flower of life tattoo represents an idea of unity.Īs far as we know, the flower of life symbol originated in Egypt. Here are a few popular sacred geometry tattoo designs we think you might like. You may not be superstitious or “buy into” the concepts behind your tattoo design, but isn’t it nice to have a tattoo that feels exactly right? If not, you may find a different geometry-inspired tattoo design in our gallery below. If it’s something that resonates with you and feels appropriate- go ahead. It’s worth looking into the specific symbolism behind your sacred geometry tattoo design. In sacred geometry, certain shapes or collections of shapes will have a specific meaning. While we’re at it- isn’t it wild how, before we could have known what each planet’s orbit looked like, we were drawing structures that resembled those orbits? Sacred Geometry Tattoo Designs Mandalas may be outside of your culture, but Venus’s orbit as seen from earth has a similar structure and is something all of us earthlings have in common. The cool thing about geometric tattoos is they are a way to embrace your appreciation for, say a Mandala tattoo, but do it in your own way. When you look at sacred symbols from different cultures and compare them to geometric tattoos, the similarities start to jump out. If you decide to get a geometric tattoo of a tree on your rib cage because of this, hey- you’re welcome. So when you start to think of how the universe “knows” the correct shapes for different functions, you may start to feel a little bit of groovy interconnectivity with the world around you. Your bronchioles look really similar to a tree’s branches, and they essentially function the same way. a person can start to understand how the world works.Ī tangentially related example would be trees and your lungs. Through studying geometry and the “rules” of shapes, patterns, angles, volume, etc. So what are geometric designs, where did they originate, what do they mean, and what should you consider before getting a geometric tattoo? Sacred Geometry Tattoos They usually have a pattern that is repeated throughout in order to create the desired tattoo image.ĭifferent geometric tattoo shapes have different meanings in nature.Īs an example, circle tattoos tend to represent relationships and community. These tattoos were seen as paths to understanding, as each different part of the tattoo holds its own meaning depending on the patterns and shapes used throughout. Geometric tattoos go all the way back to ancient times, as they have ties to spiritual and religious practices from long ago. We see certain tattoo styles dominate time periods, fade into the background, then resurface with new tattoo techniques and a modern spin.īut the truth couldn’t be any further from the case. This is especially true in the tattoo world. This is the cycle we live in when it comes to fashion, music, art, and tattoos. You may have done this when you originally forked. Here is GitHub's official document on Syncing a fork: Syncing a fork The Setupīefore you can sync, you need to add a remote that points to the upstream repository. Stick to the command line instead - it's easy. So yes, you can keep your repo updated with its upstream using the GitHub web UI, but doing so will sully your commit history. If you click Rebase and merge, all commits will be made "with" you, the original PRs will link to your PR, and GitHub will display This branch is X commits ahead, Y commits behind. This is most often something you don't want. If you click the dropdown and choose "Squash and merge", all intervening commits will be squashed into one.The default will create an ugly merge commit. Now you have three options, but each will lead to a less-than-clean commit history. Scroll down to Merge pull request, but don't click anything yet.Create pull request and assign a predictable name to your pull request (e.g., Update from original). Now GitHub will compare your fork with the original, and you should see all the latest changes. Otherwise, manually set the base fork drop down to your fork, and the head fork to the upstream. Click switching the base if you see that link.By default, GitHub will compare the original with your fork, and there shouldn't be anything to compare if you didn't make any changes. This still works as of September 2017, BUT it will lead to a dirty commit history. Starting in May 2014, it is possible to update a fork directly from GitHub. You only need to use the -f the first time after you've rebased. You'd do that with: git push -f origin master If you've rebased your branch onto upstream/master you may need to force the push in order to push it to your own forked repository on GitHub. However, for making further pull requests that are as clean as possible, it's probably better to rebase. If you don't want to rewrite the history of your master branch, (for example because other people may have cloned it) then you should replace the last command with git merge upstream/master. # aren't already in upstream/master are replayed on top of that # Rewrite your master branch so that any commits of yours that # Make sure that you're on your master branch: # Fetch all the branches of that remote into remote-tracking branches In terms of commands that might look like: # Add the remote, call it "upstream": ("Remotes" are like nicknames for the URLs of repositories - origin is one, for example.) Then you can fetch all the branches from that upstream repository, and rebase your work to continue working on the upstream version. In your local clone of your forked repository, you can add the original GitHub repository as a "remote". 7/14/2023 0 Comments Lupin movie netflixSome components whither: Through the first five episodes, Assane’s Watson-inspired sidekick Benjamin (Antoine Gouy), is an afterthought who barely progresses. Sy's Assane is so damn lovable, even when he's clearly wrong, and especially when he ingeniously gets the better of his opponent. And Assane’s skillful rouses, acted out through the show’s adroit staging, to steal sinful diamonds, recalls “Inside Man.” But it's telling how these detective narratives are often carried out by cynical protagonists-not so the case with Omar Sy's performance, which avoids such characteristics with a sincere, soft touch. Assane’s rough and tumble fighting style, along with his frame, is reminiscent of “Luther.” The reliance on disguises, and the adrenaline rush from fooling unsuspecting victims, is reminiscent of Sherlock Holmes. Within the Assane character, Kay and Uzan pile in references to other detective greats. Christophe Nuyens and Martial Schmeltz’s photography, which uses lens flares and foregrounded shadows to obscure Assane’s identity, furthers the series’ enigmatic quality. All of these characters are shadows in an alley blotched by white street lights. There’s also a French journalist (Anne Benoit, a vivid lightning bolt), long dismissed for her age and sex, who plays a pivotal role, too. And though Youssef (Soufiane Guerrab)-who we’re led to believe is of Middle Eastern descent-could crack the case, his white colleagues on the police force ignore his sound theories. In later episodes, a trio of detectives work to solve the Louvre heist. Kay and Uzan are also intrigued by other people often ignored. When so often questioned by white law enforcement, he implies his accusers’ racism to his advantage. He's a silver tongue snake charmer who relies on convincing acting, disguises, quick-thinking, and his race. See, Assane is as wily as the show’s writing. But we’re left wondering how it didn’t skip its twisted tracks. And yet the narrative train, through some tight savvy editing, always exits on the other side of the tunnel. “Lupin” is as patient as it is smart, and its plot twists like melted railroad tracks. Where did he find the means to bankroll this job? Why does he trust these abhorrent loan sharks? We wonder how Assane, who’s working as a simple janitor, can now craft a near-foolproof ploy to rob the former Queen’s crown jewels. Pelligrini’s daughter Juliette ( Clotilde Hesme) and her mother Anne ( Nicole Garcia). Through flashbacks, Kay and Uzan further reveal Assane’s once close relationship to Mr. He’s also behind in his alimony payments to his ex-wife Claire ( Ludivine Sagnier), and missing his visitations with his teenage son Raoul (Etan Simon). To furnish his scheme, he enlists a trio of loan sharks he owes serious money to as a way to cancel his debt. Take the premiere, wherein Assane concocts a plan to steal Marie Antoinette’s aforementioned necklace from an auction at the Louvre. Created by George Kay (“Killing Eve”) in collaboration with François Uzan (“Family Business”), "Lupin" is an addictive, clever puzzle that combines elements from “ Luther,” Sherlock Holmes,” and “ Inside Man” for an engrossing experience.įor every answer Kay and Uzan offer in this ten-episode French crime drama, more questions arise. 7/14/2023 0 Comments 98 ford contourInstigated in 1986 (just before its Sierra predecessor received a major facelift), the design of the car cost Ford US$6 billion. Intended as a world car, it replaced the Ford Sierra in Europe, the Ford Telstar in a large portion of Asia and other markets, while the Ford Contour and Mercury Mystique replaced the Ford Tempo and Mercury Topaz in North America. In December 1992, Autocar published a section on the Mondeo, and how it would conquer rivals. To avoid accumulating bags, players must carefully consider their bids and try to accurately predict the number of tricks they will take. This penalty is known as the "set" or "sandbag" penalty. The accumulation of bags is important because if a player or team accumulates ten bags throughout the course of the game, they lose 100 points. Each bag is worth one penalty point, and a player or team may accumulate multiple bags throughout the game. In the game of Spades, a "bag" refers to a penalty point that is incurred when a player takes more tricks than they bid. The team that reaches 500 points first wins the game. If they win fewer tricks than they bid, they lose 10 points per trick bid. If a team wins at least as many tricks as they bid, they receive 10 points per trick bid. ScoringĪt the end of the hand, each team's score is calculated based on the number of tricks they won and the number of tricks they bid. The winner of the trick leads the next card. If a player cannot follow suit, they can play any other card in their hand. The player who plays the highest card of the suit led wins the trick and leads the next trick. The other players then play a card in turn, with each player required to follow suit if possible. The player to the left of the dealer leads the first trick by playing any card from their hand. But beware.if the player wins one or more tricks, their partnership receives a 100-point penalty! Play If the player is successful, their team earns 100-point bonus. A player who bids nil bis claiming that they won't win any tricks during the hand. If a player bids "0", this is called "bidding nil". Players cannot bid a number that would cause the total number of tricks bid by all players to exceed 13. The minimum bid is zero and the maximum is 13. BiddingĪfter the cards have been dealt, each player bids on how many tricks they believe they can win in the upcoming hand. The dealer shuffles the deck and deals out all 52 cards to the four players. If multiple spades are played, the highest spade wins the trick. The Spades suit is special in this game, because it trumps all other cards in play. The order of card values, from highest to lowest, is Ace, King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2. Spades is a trick-taking game, which means that players take turns playing a single card and the player with the highest card wins the trick. The objective of the game is for each team to try and win as many tricks as possible, with the ultimate goal being to reach 500 points. Spades is played by four players in two teams. 7/14/2023 0 Comments You know flume meaningThe loon is an aquatic bird, that often dives underwater. I did more research on "loons", which some people think is a reference to some kind of crazy, as in looney but I disagree. I do not think it's about a literal pregnancy of any sort though. I'm trying to see how the womb and the mother reference could tie into all of this but I just can't seem to put it together. Maroon could represent the color of the blood, and the consequent pain brought on. It's not a literal bird he's singing about, of course, I think he's just meaning that there's an intense pain or suffering of some sort going on here. The bird has been shot or hurt in some way. The bird explanation makes more sense to me, especially when you refer to the part that says "only love is all maroon, gluey feathers on the flume." What would make the feathers "gluey"? Blood. This wary bird must be symbolic of something. I think it's supposed to say "lapping lakes like LEERY loons." Leery (not Leary) means cautious or distrustful. Also, I don't believe that the line "Leary loons" has any connection to Timothy Leary, as someone else stated. Don't hate, it's probably nonsense but I'm trying here. I've skimmed some of the comments and here's my two cents. This song is gorgeous but I'd much rather it be a profoundly beautiful song, as opposed to just a shallow, meaningless one. That’s one reason we chose Flume.Īnother definition of a flume, and perhaps the one that most readily comes to mind now we are no longer building mills and prospecting for gold, is the sort of water slide you get at a water park or swimming pool. We see our job as helping our clients make sure the flume is pointing in the right direction and flowing as quickly as possible. Identifying these and addressing them is how your brand helps people achieve their goal more easily than your competitors. There are things that can speed up the flow and things that can slow it down. That’s sort of how we see marketing: understanding where people are trying to get to and building a brand that gets them there as easily as possible. One definition of a flume is a man-made channel that carries water so that it flows as smoothly, quickly and easily as possible to a particular location.
